Registration

Header Graphic This will be displayed at the top of the web page where your items are displayed. The graphic is most likely your logo or perhaps the header graphic from your current website. The maximum allowed width of this graphic is 600 pixels. This does not have to be done at the time of registration. The graphic can be added or changed later.

Billing Info

This information applies to the billing information we will need to process your credit card charges for the monthly fees. Please ensure that we have the correct address, with zip code, for where you receive your credit card statements for the credit card to be used for charges.

Web Site Info

This portion is for the information you would like displayed on all web site output, in case that information is different than that of your billing information. Example1 - your credit card billing zip code may be different than your store location zip. Example2 - the email address to contact for the items for sale (Web Site Info) may be different than the person to contact regarding billing issues.

NOTE: If your billing and web site information are identical, then check the box at: "Use Billing info for Web Site info (if they are the same)"

Login & Password

Enter a User Name for your login and then a password. You will need these to access your account and to add/change/delete items for sale. Use login information you can remember. If you forget your information, we can send it to you via email if you click "Forgot Password?" on the home page and give us the billing email address you gave when you registered.

Web-Site

Enter your web site URL (e.g. - www.selltheused.com)

Referred by

Please give us the name of the person or publication that referred you to SellTheUsed.com.

Adding Items & Photos

The basic package will display the total number of items shown here and up to four pictures of each item. The display of additional items is available in blocks of ten at an additional cost. If you wish to add more items, click "Add 10 Items" to get the desired total number of items. If you wish to display eight pictures of each item rather than four, click the "Add 4 Photos." (if you change your mind, just click the appropriate "Remove…" link. The "Total Monthly Cost" will increment with each click of either option.

Total Monthly Cost

This is the total monthly charge for the cost of the basic package plus the cost of added items and/or pictures.

Discount

There is a 25% discount for current danbailey.com web site hosting customers and for those SellTheUsed.com customers that have more than one account. When you check this box the discount is calculated for you so that you will know what your monthly charges will be. Eligibility for this discount will be reviewed before credit cards are charged and, if there is a question of eligibility, you will be contacted by email.

Policies

As shown on the registration page, by clicking the "Continue" button, and submitting your payment information, you are agreeing that you have read, understand and accept the policies of SellTheUsed.com, as posted and as modified from time to time.

Continue

Clicking "Continue" will transfer you to a form on our secure server where we will collect your credit card information for processing and future charges.

Credit Card Form

Fill in all fields on this form. All fields are self explanatory except for you may not be familiar with the "CVV2#." The CVV# is the number printed on the back of your credit card in the signature panel. It is the last 3-digit series of numbers on the right.

Submit

When you click "Submit" on the credit card form, you are then directed to a "Registration Success" page. From there you can click and get back to the Sell The Used home page where you can log in.

Once logged in you will see a menu that includes "Items for sale" and "Profile."

Profile

a) General

The Profile contains the information that you supplied when you registered. Use this form to change billing or web site information, add/change a header graphic and to change the total number of items or pictures for display. If your credit card billing address is changing, or you need to change credit cards for billing purposes, please contact us directly at billing@selltheused.com

b) Link To Client Web Site

This is the link that you put on your web site that will display only your items for sale. To use, you add a link on your web site called, for example, Used Equipment. Copy the info in the Link To Client Web Site field and paste it as the link destination for Used Equipment. We recommend that you open your items for sale in a separate window since there will be no navigation to return to your main site. This is accomplished by adding the proper code to the link (target="_blank"). Your web site designer typically does this, though we can help you accomplish this at an extra charge.

Items for sale

This is where you add/change/delete the items that you are displaying for sale. If you have not added any items yet, you will see the link "Add Items." Once items have been added, you will also see a list of those items with links to "Edit" or "Delete" each item.

Add Items

Category, Type & Manufacturer Select a category, type & Manufacturer from the drop down boxes. If the appropriate choice is not in the drop downs, you should use the "Add Category", "Add Type" or "Add Manufacturer" boxes to enter the information for your equipment. Examples: Forklift/Electric/Yale or Forklift/Gas/Mitsubishi, Restaurant Equipment/Oven/Blodgett, Machinery/Woodworking/Delta, Woodworking/Lathes/Ohio Forge. STU reviews Category and Type additions and may change your selection to keep the list compact and usable for visitors. If you have any question at all, please email us.

Year

Enter the year of Manufacture for the item

Condition

Except for "New", these are all up to your interpretation of the condition of the equipment. Use the "Description" area to add details about the condition of the equipment.

Model

Manufacturer's designated model number or model name for the equipment

Price

Enter the sale price of equipment here. If there are other aspects of pricing that are needed (tax, shipping, etc.) then add that info in "Description"

Description

Use this area to expand on equipment condition, mileage, hours used, shipping needs, recent maintenance, etc. (there is a 350 character limit)

Photos

A picture is worth a thousand words, so we highly recommend that you have a digital camera and the software to properly format and crop the pictures you use. The basic package provides for up to 4 pictures for each item. Some items may need a picture or two. If you have items that need more than 4 pictures, you can select the "8 picture" option in your "Profile" area (there is an additional charge).

Pictures need to be in .jpg format with a maximum width of 350 pixels and a maximum file size of 50kb.

Once you have formatted the pictures to the above specifications, click "Browse" next to the "Photo #1" field and find the picture file on your hard drive. Select the correct picture and the file path will be added to the "Photo #1" field. If you wish to add a caption to the picture, type the caption in the field next to "Caption #1" (75 character maximum) Repeat this thru the other pictures you wish to display for Photo #2, #3, etc.

Submit

When you click "Submit" the pictures will be uploaded to our servers and the descriptive information added to our database. That item will now be shown when accessed via your website link or through our "Items For Sale" link.
